Shims (piece of metal the size of a piece that is screwed into the skin) come with pedals. Because different types of pedals, shoes, even if the design is to secure the bolts of the shoe to be universal (well, universal mountain bike, there is little variety in the shoes of the road and tacos).

This means that, at present in the spring or "automatic" pedals. If all you have are clearly old platform pedals or pedals a clip (or "basket") and the configuration of the nylon webbing, it is then assigned Cove. You also have to buy the pedals and clips come in the box with the pedals.

Will probably purchase a few machines to connect to the pedals, and a few tacos thinguies of metal, which are inserted into the shoe.

The spots are based on the pedal and are usually with them. You can easily check your pedals - ex. Shimano SPD - and buy the connectors to install it for you. In general, run about $ 20 per couple.

What are the staples.

They come with pedals. From your question, I think I do not have clipless pedals. You must obtain in order to maximize the use of cycling shoes.

Shimano and Crank Brothers pedals, good job. But make sure your shoe is compatible with the pedals, bought.
